Cassie and Danny were married on the shores of Lake Kariba on their own private beach in the exquisite Musango Safari Lodge concession. Elephant dung littered their unique ceremony site, while hippos and crocodiles kept a beady eye on proceedings from the nearby bay. The groom and his merry groomsmen kept things very low key, arriving shoeless for this African version of a beach wedding – while the bride and her bridal party were treated to constant visits throughout the morning from the very friendly wild bushbuck which live around the camp. A small group of elephant bulls browsed their way slowly across the opposite shore all morning and later on two hippos even started having a little tussle while we did the formal photos! Most guests stayed on the luxury Zambezi Trader houseboat, so it was really one long wedding weekend celebration of the marriage of these two – and with Paul Bowen’s great music – one seriously wild party on the night! Davies Events really did an impeccable job putting this all together so far from the bright lights of Harare, and Steve and Wendy’s beautiful Musango Safari Lodge was such a stunning backdrop for many of the wedding’s special moments.
Cassie and Dannie I hope that these photos capture some of the spirit and heart of your colour-filled bush-beach wedding as you remember it. It was a great pleasure to be part of the day with you and your lovely families. Wishing you a bright future together with many more Kariba sundowners.
